G. Lyn Hayth, III
G. Lyn Hayth, III is President and CEO of the Bank. Mr. Hayth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He joined Bank of Botetourt in 1986 as a Vice President, following three years with Farm Credit Service. Mr. Hayth was elected to the Board of Directors of the Bank in 1990 and named Executive Vice President in 1995. He was elected President of the Bank in January 2002. He was named CEO of the Bank in 2010.

Michelle R. Austin
Michelle R. Austin has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. She will maintain her role as CFO, which she has held since 2005, and will continue working from the Bank’s Troutville Office. Michelle began her career in banking with Bank of Botetourt as a college intern in 1991 and joined the Bank full time in 1993. She has her Bachelor of Business Administration from Roanoke College and an MBA from Troy University. Michelle also graduated from the Virginia Bankers Association (VBA) School of Bank Management at University of Virginia (UVA) and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University (LSU). |
George E. Honts IV (Ned)
George E. Honts IV (Ned) has been promoted to Executive Vice President and will continue his role of Chief Lending Officer. Ned is based out of the Bank’s Troutville Office. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College along with the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at UVA and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Ned serves on the Board of the Botetourt County Public Schools Education Foundation, the Board and Executive Board for the Virginia State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Appalachian Habitat Association. |
Andrew Shotwell
Andrew T. Shotwell is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mr. Shotwell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Radford University. He is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He joined Bank of Botetourt in 1989 and previously served as branch manager, consumer, and commercial lender. Mr. Shotwell was promoted to his current Senior Vice President position in 2006 and oversees the Bank’s Information Technology, Operations and Facilities departments. Shotwell serves as chairman of the Virginia Association of Community Banks’ Technology Committee. |
Barbara Anderson
Barbara G. Anderson is the Senior Vice President and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. Mrs. Anderson has been with the Bank for 23 years and is responsible for the oversight of outsourced internal audit, regulatory oversight, risk management, risk oversight, and numerous compliance areas within the Bank. With more than 33 years in banking, she was previously with Central Fidelity Bank and Wachovia. She is a 2001 graduate from the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management and received her certification as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) in 2015. She currently serves on the Virginia Bankers Association Security and Enterprise Risk Management Committee. |
Laurie Hart
Laurie C. Hart is the Chief Strategic and Retail Officer of the Bank. Mrs. Hart double majored at Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Economics. She joined Bank of Botetourt in 2019 as a Senior Vice President, following a thirty five-year career in the financial services industry. Her prior experience ranges from community banking to capital markets, commercial banking, and private banking. At Bank of Botetourt, Mrs. Hart manages the Retail Banking Division, Marketing Department as well as treasury and deposit services, merchant services and sales. She is a current member of the Virginia Bankers Association Government Relations Committee and serves on the St. Andrews Catholic Church Parish Finance Council. She has served on the boards of The Roanoke Symphony and The Jefferson Center. |
