Community Involvement

Community banks are only as strong as the local communities.

Whether lending to local businesses, donating to nonprofits, or encouraging volunteer service, Bank of Botetourt remains deeply committed to strengthening the communities it serves. Through these efforts, the Bank continually strives to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those who call these communities home.

Community Opportunities
Employee Volunteerism

Bank of Botetourt employees are encouraged to participate through mentoring, volunteering, sponsoring, and public service. Every day, employees provide their time and talents for efforts that are important to their local communities – some read to children, others work during parades and festivals, some donate blood, or participate in walk-a-thons. The Bank is proud of the many employees who generously donate their time in support of charitable, civic, and professional organizations.

Financial Education

At Bank of Botetourt, we’re committed to strengthening our community through financial education. From participating in programs like the Virginia Bankers Association Bank Day to offering helpful resources and tools, we provide opportunities for students and community members to build financial knowledge and confidence.

Scholarship Opportunities
Every year, Bank of Botetourt provides $1,000 scholarships for local high school seniors who will be attending Virginia Western Community College or Mountain Gateway Community College and pursuing an arts degree.
We join the annual Virginia Bankers Association (VBA) Bank Day, established in 1991 to introduce students to banking and its community impact. Students write essays based on their experience, competing for scholarships. Bank of Botetourt is proud of its history of past winners.
Bank of Botetourt offers an annual “Focused on You” Community Scholarship. The scholarship is for high school seniors or current college students who use Bank of Botetourt as their financial institution.
