  • How do I enroll in TransferNow?
    To begin using TransferNow, you must first be enrolled in online banking and authorize your external bank accounts. When you initiate a transfer, you will see what types of accounts are eligible. Using your desktop, log into your online banking account. Select “Transfers.” Select, “External Transfers ”Set-up transfer authorization using either of the two verification methods: trial deposit verification or Real-Time account verification. To complete the transfer, account titles and names need to be exact from institution to institution.
  • How quickly will my transferred funds appear in my account?
    Bank of Botetourt offers two transfer options: Standard and Next-Day.
    Standard transfers arrive in the receiving account within three to four business days.
    Next-day transfers will arrive in the receiving account on the next business day.
  • Is there a limit to the amount of money I can transfer?
    Yes, there are transaction limits.
    $5,000 per transaction
    $5,000 in total transfers per day
    $10,000 in total transfers per month
  • What are the fees associated with TransferNow?
    There is a fee according to the delivery speed you select and the number of transfers per month.
    Standard Delivery: Five free transfers per month; $1.00 charge for each thereafter.
    Next-Day Delivery: $4.00 per transfer
  • How do I qualify for Next-Day delivery?
  • Next Day Inbound:
    • No Account Overdrafts for 90 days
    • Successfully completed “regular” accounts transfers that total $1,000
    • Completed the required “regular” account transfers within 30 days of requesting a next day transfer
    • Minimum available balance of $750
  • Next Day Outbound:
    • No account overdrafts for 90 days
    • Successfully completed “regular’ account transfers that total $500
    • Completed the required “regular” account transfers within 60 days of requesting a next day transfer
    • Minimum available balance of $750

*If customers meet the criteria and then have an overdraft, no longer meet the transfer requirement or have an available balance less than what is required, then the ability to request a Next Day transfer will be revoked automatically.

Image Statements

Image statements are printed "pictures" of your cancelled checks that can be included with your monthly statement. Check imaging technology allows you to reconcile your account with checks in sequential order while making record-keeping and retention easier. Bank of Botetourt checking customers with the following types of accounts are eligible to receive Image Statements:

  • What are image statements?
    Image statements are printed "pictures" of your cancelled checks. Statements are printed with 18 images per sheet.
  • Is there another way to see my check images
    Yes! Online Banking allows you to view, print or save your check images free of charge. In fact, you can sign up for E-Statements and not receive any paper at all! Your monthly statements can be delivered electronically. That's the cleaner, greener way to bank.
  • Are image statements acceptable proof of payment?
    Yes. The IRS considers it acceptable proof of payment as long as the statement shows the check number, the amount of the check, and the payee name. Your image statement will include all of this information.
  • Does this mean I will no longer receive my checks back?
    Actually you still are getting your checks back. The checks are in a different format, one that is easier to manage, and you are getting them back in check-number order, making it easier to reconcile your account.
  • Does the image statement show the back of the check as well?
    Yes, images statements include the back of your check.
  • What if I lose my check image statement?
    If you lose your image statement please contact your local Branch.
  • Is there a fee to get Image Statements?
    No, they are free!
  • Will I need to get new checks because of image statements?
    No. Most checks will provide a quality image. If you do experience problems as a result of your checks, we will work with you to resolve the problem.

Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit allows you to have your entire paycheck or other recurring check (such as Social Security) to be deposited directly into your Bank of Botetourt account. Contact your HR or payroll department today to set up Direct Deposit. Print the Direct Deposit Authorization Form to bring to your HR/payroll department. Bank of Botetourt can help you sign up for direct deposit if you are a recipient of a federal government payment.
